Well, it’s a crazy uncharted territory we are in right now! Coronavirus. Shelter in Place. Stay at Home. These are all things we never even thought of until a couple weeks ago.

STAY CALM! Stay Home
So trying to stay in my happy place….instead of the anxiety, worry and basically on the verge of FREAKING OUT….I decided to do some art.
And not just me doing art, cause that always brings me peace….but to bring YOU something fun to do at home, while all cooped up doing are part on Social Distancing ….to beat this crazy pandemic!
So this is a fun SPRING….Easter Bunny! For this project, I made him for a shirt, but you can use him anyway you want. I also painted him on a canvas I had laying around (yes, you know me by now….I am a hoarder! & thankfully so right now, cause we can’t get out to get supplies!)
That’s why I wanted this to be something that you can do on anything. Print out the bunny. You can then use him the size he is, which works great for a t shirt. Or size him down on your copy machine to put him on a piece of wood! How about on a canvas bag. Give to the kids as a coloring page! Let them cut out the bunny on construction paper. The list goes on and on!
GET READY, SET, GO!
But for this project, I thought what would you most likely have on hand, so no need to try and order anything online. So I’m sure you have an extra t-shirt. It needs to be a lighter color, cause we’re going to use a sharpie marker! That’s right, just your good old Sharpie for this project! Now if you have colored sharpies….even better! My version is just black, but feel free to make him a pretty color! Fill him in with markers, or fabric paint! The choice is yours.
Let’s Get Started
So go ahead and print out the bunny and cut him out. Cut out his head. You can cut out his ears separate, or leave them attached, which ever is easier for you. Leave his eyes and nose in place for right now.
Now you’ll need your tshirt. Cotton works best. Put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt, so your marker won’t bleed through to the backside. If you don’t have any cardboard, use some aluminum foil or parchment paper. Anything to protect the back of the shirt. Straighten the shirt flat.
Now the fun part. This is a VERY fast project! Take your sharpie and trace around the head and the ears. Next cut out the eyes and nose. You’ll trace around those too.
I mean…..how cool is this! Quick bunny shirt! Feel free to add the date or a saying, anything you want to remember this shirt by. The next thing you need to do is heat set the ink. So either throw the shirt into the dryer on medium to high heat for a few minutes or set it with an iron, but no steam.
Will this shirt fade….probably over time. But this is just a fun little project for you or your kids to pass the time and bring a little joy of Spring. I would love to see how you use this bunny, so please tag me on your Facebook or Instagram posts!
