When we first started talking about the type of house we were to build for our Airbnb vacation rental, since it was being built here on our family farm, I knew I wanted a Farmhouse. To stay with that “theme” I decided to keep all things related in the décor to the farmhouse look, only with a modern twist!

How I use Barn Lights
In searching for the exterior lighting of our Airbnb vacation rental, I knew I wanted something black in color to make a nice pop against the Pebblestone Clay siding. When I discovered these barn lights on Amazon, I knew I found what I was looking for! The dimensions, the style, the color….it was exactly what I had in my mind!
So I bought four of the barn lights: two for the front porch to flank the front door and two for the back porch, one is centered over the back patio door, the other over the kitchen window. They illuminate the areas perfectly, especially on the front porch, keeping the light directed down, lighting the door & porch floor.
After loving these lights so much, I decided why not add some interest inside the house, since they were such an affordable buy! In one of the bedrooms, we decided back in the planning stage to use two twin beds for guests. Why not use barn lights over each bed in place of a lamp on the nightstand?!! So we had two of these same barn lights installed over the beds headboard area, each having their own switch to turn on within reaching distance of the bed.
I’m thrilled with the result! It adds the exact farmhouse look I was going for and I especially like the look with the white metal frame beds. I’ve added a link for these barn lights for your convenience if you’d like more details.
