TRAVELS WITH BAXTER
So, were to begin. Well, Travels with Baxter for one! This is going to be a new “category” I’ll be blogging about soon. So whether you want to keep up with us on our travels, with Baxter our Goldendoodle of course, or see some fun decor items I will be incorporating into our Motorhome (more on that below) and even small quick DIY projects you can do anywhere…..even in a motorhome on the go…then keep following along!
In my last blog I mentioned some fun exciting new things were in the works. We have been talking about buying an RV for a few years now, but never were in the “right moment” to push the Green button GO. Until after my Mother passed away last fall. During this same time, my hubby decided to retire early and within a few months, sold his business and leased the warehouse property. Nothing was holding us back to start that RV lifestyle dream we’ve had. So the search began.
CRAZY TIME TO BUY AN RV
Who knew 2020 would cause such an explosion in the RV market….. finding that perfect used RV was a job in itself! We had been searching for months…. six to be exact. It seemed like every time we found one we really liked, by the time we called to schedule an appointment to go see it….it had sold….literally overnight. In fact, we had an appointment to see one in Nashville….a 5 hour drive for us. Got an hour away from Nashville and received a call from the sales guy….the person there before us, bought it. Nothing like driving 8 hours for nothing. BUT, we found an even better deal a few weeks later….so…all is good!
WHAT DID WE BUY??
Three years ago we had thought about a travel trailer. Then leaned towards a 5th wheel. But with both of these we would need to buy a big truck. Something we didn’t really want. So we decided on a motorhome, and tow our Jeep. So that is exactly what we bought! I fell in love with it the moment I saw a photo of it. Most we had looked at were dark colors and if you know me at all, you know how things LOOK matter a lot! This one is a champagne color….it looks either taupe or silver depending on the light of day. And the inside wasn’t dark like most we looked at. If we’re gonna be in this thing for a few months at a time, I don’t want a dark, depressing environment. Again… decor is my thing….and I need to like it! Sure there are things one can do to update a RV, but at this stage in my life, a remodel job was NOT what I needed.
So in the new few weeks I plan to write more on what we have planned, things I’m doing to add my own personal style to the RV (with photos of course!), places we are going and some fun DIY projects to do in small spaces. Projects that aren’t necessarily RV related but what projects you can do with limited space and supplies! Be sure to stay tuned, hit that like button on my IG page and be on the look out for a new IG page coming soon all about Travels with Baxter.
