I’ve had a LOVE/HATE relationship with wallpaper over the past 35+ years! When I was a teenager, my Mother allowed me to choose the new wallpaper for my room. We’re talking late 70’s….so coral was THE IN COLOR! (and it’s made a comeback this year!)

When my husband and I built our house in 1983, I chose wallpaper for 5 rooms! I LOVED it! Then in the late 80’s I decided I wanted a change and started the “fun” process of removing said wallpaper, thus began the HATE relationship!
Wallpaper Comeback
But it’s been several years now that I’ve been “paperless” and I stumbled upon the most awesome wallpaper that has moved me back to the LOVE side! I found this incredible navy and white damask print. I love all things Damask, especially a large BOLD print like this one. So I decided I’d give it a try in our Modern Farmhouse Airbnb rental.
Since in the past I grew to be tired of wallpaper after a few years, I only applied it to one focal wall in the bathroom with this gorgeous print. This way it won’t be such a hard job removing it, and it kept the smaller size bathroom for becoming closed in and dark. But I liked it SO much, I thought why not also apply it on the back wall of the open closet in the Master bedroom! We chose not to have closet doors, but leave this area open to the room.
This paper makes such a gorgeous statement. It wasn’t difficult to apply either, thanks to the help of my awesome husband! My tip for you: even if it’s pre-pasted, which this paper was, I applied a wallpaper activator instead of using water. It was way less messy this way and the activator gave me some “slip” to move the paper around a bit where needed to line up properly.
What’s your thoughts on wallpaper? Yes or No? I’d love to hear from you!
